Thornton Family Photos

Once more Leon Thornton has some great surprises for us!  yes, he had identified a couple of people in a group photo and is trying to get us a better copy of it!
On September 1, 2010 Leon sent the following via email:

Lu Dawn, I had said I would send you more photo’s and attached are 6 originals, some of these I will need to check on the dates and ages. Clarence and Maude Thornton, Clarence and Maxine Thornton (son & daughter in-law), Clarence O. Thornton (Clarence O. Thornton’s son at age 22), Clarence Thornton Jr. (Clarence O. Thornton’s Son) age 22 – 1944. The last two I think you’ll be excited about, one is a photo of the original homestead and was the one with me sitting on the stone that is at Meadow’s Cemetery gate (age 6) and a photo of the homestead barn. To my knowledge, no one has a picture of the Homestead this close.

I’m going to talk with Mom & Dad about any picture they have and sooner or later I’ll send you what we find.

Now, in this photo, farthest right is Henry Thornton (Savanna’s husband, my great grandfather), center is Clarence O. Thornton. In the second photo Henry is standing in the center, Clarence just to the left. I’m hope to find out who the rest are from Mom & Dad but I remember Dad pointing them out to me years ago. I’ve seen this photo before and am hoping Mom & Dad have an original that maybe be able to provide a better quality picture.

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I haven’t forgotten about you. In fact I have some other e-mails I want to send pertaining to the Meadows family. As a result to your sight, Mark Meadows had contacted me and are some interesting facts I’m sure you would enjoy. Thanks for your patience.

In the next photocopies is Edith Thornton.  This looks like a family gathering photo.  Edith is identified with the circle around her.  She looks to be in her late teens age years.  Would love to know who the other people in this photo are!
Leon Thornton tells us he is tracking down the whereabouts of the original for this photo!
In this photo, Leon identifies Henry Thornton and Clarence:
farthest right is Henry Thornton (Savanna’s husband, my great grandfather), center is Clarence O. Thornton. In the second photo Henry is standing in the center, Clarence just to the left.
