The following copied from material sent to Fran Bolles from Mrs. Leland Fogg, RFD 1, Box 107, Pittsburg,
New Hampshire, 03592:

Daniel Day, Sr. - he arrived in Coventry, N.H. in 1824 (Book says one of the new arrivals.
(Note:  Lu Dawn does not know what book is being referred to here.)
He appears in the records of 1825.  He and Joseph bought land there in 1823.
Four oldest children are listed in the book:  Looks as though they were all recorded at same time and not born there.
Joseph Day and Caleb Day were also in Coventry in 1825 and 1833.  One married in 1823 to Nancy King - says he was from Haverhill.  The other married in 1842 Dorothy Mack of Topsham, Vt.  I think one may have been the same one who was in Coventry but no way of proving.  Daniel sold his farm to Daniel Batchalder.  He then probably moved to Warren.

There was also a Jeremiah Danford there in 1825.  Wonder if he was related to Jane?

Daniel Day, Jr.  According to his obituary he came to Pittsburg ca 1842.  Had been here 60 years.  Came from Warren, N.H>
Clyde Day told me they came there from Me. to work in the mills.  He was born in Cornish, Me.  War papers say Parsonfield.  Cival War Veteran  Enrolled May 18, 1864  N.H. Vol. 4th Reg. Co. F, discharged at Raliegh, N.C. 6/15/1865.
Was living in Stewartstown in 1846 as some of his children were born there.

From Gloria:
According to the obituary of Samuel found in the family Bible - he was born in Cornish, Me.  Lived there until 5 years old (1826).  Then lived in Warren until 1841.  Moved to Pittsburgh.  He died at Clyde's in W. Stewartstown in 1907.

In Warren the Day's lived in the Charleston area.  Located nearer to Piermont than to Warren.  On Tarleton Lake.  Understand the site is now impossible to find.

Daniel Sr. was listed in the Pittsburg 1850 Census.  Would have been born in 1798.  Still living in 1870 but died before 1880.
Jane was living with daughter Abigail and Seldon Danforth.
I haven't been able to get the census of 1830 to see where he was living and how many children he had but I assume in Warren or Coventry.

If I am checking right - Daniel - he had 5 brothers and 4 sisters (Me. Census).
