Warren would be out in the field plowing and could hear the radio at the house.  He would come in and turn it off.  It was meant for news only.  And windows were made to look out of - so only curtains a few 3-4 inches in width were allowed - they covered only the wood around each window.  I have seen these.  The ones I had in my possession were of a pink print and at their widest point measured a bare 4 inches wide.

There was a hand pump in the kitchen as late as the 1960's.  It was cool tasty well water.

Warren made the dome shaped furnace himself!  I did see this back in the early 1960's.

There was also an out house in the 1960's.

Warren built a workshop and other out buildings - he loved to work with wood and made some unique wooden toys!

His son Lester also enjoyed working with wood as did his son Paul Lester and his son Mark Paul!
